Respiratory Care WA is pleased to welcome Mike Erickson to its Board.
Mike is a mining executive and company director with 40 years’ experience in the resources sector. A geologist by training, he brings extensive operational leadership experience across the industry.
He previously served as Senior Vice President, Australian Region at AngloGold Ashanti for 10 years, retiring from the role in 2023. A strong advocate for the resources industry, Mike has also served on the Board of the Minerals Council of Australia and the Advisory Board of the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia for more than nine years.
Mike currently works part-time as a Corporate Advisor to the Carey Group, a leading 100% Aboriginal-owned mining, civil, construction and training company.
He is a passionate supporter of diverse and inclusive workplaces and has been an active mentor in the Women in Mining (WA) Mentoring Program since 2012. In recognition of his commitment to inclusion, Mike received the CME Women in Resources Champion Award in 2023, followed by the prestigious G.J. Stokes Memorial Award at the 2024 Diggers & Dealers Forum for his services to the mining industry.
Mike is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Governance Institute of Australia, and a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
