Asthma

One in nine Western Australians live with asthma. A chronic condition, it can impact all ages. Triggers, medications and symptoms are unique for every person.

It is estimated that 60% of people don’t know they have asthma or don’t have a correct care plan, meaning their asthma may be holding them back. But, with correct diagnosis and management, asthma doesn’t have to negatively impact day to day life.

COPD

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a chronic inflammatory lung disease that causes obstructed airflow from the lungs, also known as emphysema and bronchitis. COPD narrows your airways in the lungs, making it more difficult to breathe. Symptoms include breathing difficulty, cough, mucus (sputum) production and wheezing.

With early diagnosis and management, people with COPD can ease their symptoms and improve their quality of life. If left untreated, COPD is a progressive and incurable condition with symptoms increasing with time.

Respiratory Care WA is here to help provide correct diagnosis, education and management, so you can live life to the fullest.
