Respiratory Care WA is pleased to welcome Bernie Wong as Manager of Health Services.

A physiotherapist by background, Bernie brings extensive experience in clinical leadership, health service management and program delivery across the healthcare sector. He has led multidisciplinary teams and health programs, with expertise in clinical governance, operations, workforce development, stakeholder engagement and contract management. Bernie is also completing a Master of Business Administration at the University of Western Australia.

In his new role, Bernie will provide strategic and operational leadership across Respiratory Care WA’s clinical and community health programs.

“Many Western Australians are living with asthma and COPD that goes undiagnosed or isn’t well managed, often only recognised once it begins to affect their day‑to‑day lives” Bernie said.

“Reaching people early is where the biggest difference can be made. I’m looking forward to working with the team at Respiratory Care WA to build on the strong foundations already in place and help ensure more people receive the care and support they need.”

Chief Executive Officer Rael Rivers welcomed Bernie’s appointment.

“Bernie brings extensive experience in health service leadership and a collaborative approach to delivering quality care,” Ms Rivers said.

“His expertise, strategic perspective and commitment to continuous improvement will be a valuable asset as we continue to strengthen our clinical and community health programs.”
