Keeping us scrubbed up for six years

Every day, Respiratory Care WA’s nurses, scientists and respiratory specialists work with individuals and families affected by respiratory conditions across Western Australia.

For almost six years, Simon Stewart and the team at Stewart and Heaton have quietly supported that work through the annual donation of approximately $5,000 worth of scrubs, helping ensure our team is equipped to deliver care, education and support where it is needed most.

Founded in 1991, Stewart and Heaton is a family-owned Western Australian business with a strong commitment to supporting organisations that make a difference in their communities. Under Simon’s leadership, the company has become a valued partner to many essential services and community organisations throughout the state, providing uniforms to firefighters, State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers, police officers, paramedics and many others.

“At Stewart and Heaton, we’ve always believed in supporting the people who dedicate their lives to helping others,” Simon said.

“The work Respiratory Care WA does in the community is incredibly important, and we’re proud to play a small part in helping their team continue making a difference. It’s been a privilege to support the organisation over the years and see the impact they have across Western Australia.”

Respiratory Care WA CEO, Rael Rivers, first reached out to Simon in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic seeking support to source not only scrubs but also face masks to help protect staff working on the frontline with people living with respiratory conditions.

“I remember reaching out to Simon as we were desperate to find high-quality face masks just as COVID hit,” Rael said.

“Despite the lockdowns, our staff diligently continued to, support people who were struggling with their breathing and needed urgent help. Simon and his team were incredible. They not only supplied scrubs but also helped us access masks that kept our team safe and enabled us to continue delivering vital services during a very challenging time.”

Since then, Stewart and Heaton’s support has continued year after year, ensuring Respiratory Care WA staff are professionally equipped whether they are delivering respiratory assessments, running education sessions, supporting regional outreach clinics or working directly with families affected by lung conditions.

“Support like Simon’s goes far beyond providing uniforms,” Rael said.

“It demonstrates a genuine commitment to the health and wellbeing of Western Australians. Over the past six years, Simon and the team at Stewart and Heaton have become valued supporters of our organisation and we are incredibly grateful for their ongoing generosity. Their contribution helps our team focus on what matters most – improving respiratory health outcomes for people across our state.”
