World Asthma Day

Did you know that poorly controlled asthma has a larger carbon footprint than well-controlled asthma?

In Australia alone, emissions from short-acting reliever inhalers are estimated to equal more than 350,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year.

That’s roughly…

This free webinar on World Asthma Day will explore the connection between asthma control, inhaler use and environmental impact — and what both health professionals and people living with asthma can do to reduce it.

  • The known carbon footprint of metered-dose inhalers (MDIs)
  • Considerations when using dry powder inhalers in younger children
  • Shifts in updated asthma guidelines, including in the Australian Asthma Handbook, towards anti-inflammatory reliever therapy and limitations in paediatrics
  • Practical ways to discuss adherence with children and families
