During Appointment FAQs

You will meet with a trained Respiratory Educator or Scientist.

You will sit in a chair and a soft clip will be placed on your nose. This is so that all breathing occurs through the mouth, not the nose.

You will be provided with a disposable mouthpiece that is attached to a spirometer.

You will form a tight seal over the mouthpiece with your mouth, then the Respiratory Educator/Scientist will instruct you to inhale and exhale in different ways.

You will be monitored closely during the test for any difficulties breathing.
